Topics:
“What Every Dentist Needs to Know About Occlusion” – Day 1
“Clinical Solutions to Occlusal Challenges” – Day 2
When one evaluates a patient one may see worn teeth, broken tooth structure, failing restorations, bone loss, inflamed gums, periodontal disease, but often do not realize there are other unseen forces that contribute occlusal challenges that go beyond what we learned in dental school. Theoretically we all have an answer, but when it comes to clinical reality our patients may not always be happy with the treatment outcomes. As dentists we know there must be something better. Better answers that make clinical sense.
| We need to know when to grind and when not to grind the teeth.
| We need to know when VDO should be altered and when it should not be changed.
| How to deal with anterior open bites, narrow arches, airway problems…when constructing new occlusion.
| WITHOUT NEW KNOWLEDGE to Change Old Habits CLINICAL FAILURES will continue….

- Acknowledging the foundational principles of “Physiologic Rest” has been a hall mark among all neuromuscular clinicians. NM diagnosis begins at homeostasis and the treatment goal of both phase I orthotic stabilization and phase II restorative and orthodontic treatment is to return pathologic conditions to a state of physiologic rest and optimal function. The question we must ask ourselves: Have we achieved our NM goals and effective treatments objectively with our clinical cases?
- What is Physiologic Rest?
- Characteristics that indicate physiologic rest with the K7.
- Treatment scans to validate the quality of one’s finished case.
- Clinical aspects of micro occlusion and GNM orthotic management
