Proprioception – to the brain: Balances the bodies autonomic nervous system. It is the receiving mechanism of stimulation within tissues of the body. The most delicate proprioceptive stimulation occurs within the oral cavity (Dr. Larry Lytle). It is the feedback from the oral cavity area that regulates significant brain functions (12 meridians and organ systems of the body). There are charts that relate to the organ systems. If there are things wrong with certain organ systems, then the dentist should check the oral cavity and relate that signal to that organ system. If there is something wrong in the body in the organ system they should look in the mouth.

Over 50% of the body functions by prioprioception from the brain. Low level electrical feedback activity is from the brain. Newton’s 3rd law of motion affects your jaw and life. For every action there is a reaction. Cerebellum receives neural information from the 5th and mandibular cranial nerve to proceeds to postural body changes. Thus, even small changes in the way the lower jaw meets the upper jaw and skull since faulty proprioceptive signals to the brain which easily reflect to the neck, lower back and down to the bottom of the feet. The 5th trigeminal nerve is the only cranial nerve that has both motor and sensory.

Proprioception effects the following:

Visual
Sensory
Motor
Integrates incoming stimuli and out going responses.

If dentist were to be in charge of this aspect of the body we would in reality be in charge of the body. We know the medical profession would’t stand for that, thus it is not in the medical curriculum.

Dentist have more to do with one’s well being then the medical doctor or chiropractor. It is responsibility the medical arena or chiropractic arena doesn’t want to deal with.

A Harvard Study indicated (based on 33,000 cases:

Highest morbidity risk factor was loss of teeth (10 or more teeth).
No correlation between high cholesterol.
No correlation between obesity.
No correlation between high blood pressure.
No correlation between smoking.
No correlation between alcohol.
No correlation between high triglycerides.

Loss of 10 or more teeth would increase the risk of heart attack and cancer by 68%. This is not publicized because it is not solved by drugs.
