THE OC GNM DENTISTRY MANIFESTO

Timeless Principles. Unchanging Physiology. Enduring Truth.

Written December 2025 · Brought home to Occlusion Connections, August 2026

Lessons Are Timeless.
The human system never stops teaching the clinician who knows how to listen.

Patients Always Overcome Technology.
Machines assist. Patients reveal. The physiology always tells the truth.

Simplicity Beats Complexity.
Clarity outperforms clutter. Precision outperforms noise.

Perfect Fundamentals Outperform Fancy Devices With Poor Fundamentals.
Tools cannot compensate for misunderstanding. Technique is the great equalizer.

Calm Under Pressure.
Mastery is measured not in ideal conditions, but in the storm.

Adaptation to Conditions.
The patient’s adaptive intelligence is the most powerful diagnostic instrument ever created.

These Principles Haven’t Changed.
Not in decades. Not with trends. Not with new gadgets.

OC GNM teachings proves this today.

OC GNM Teaching Effectiveness

Why the System Works — Consistently, Predictably, Universally.

A clear analysis of OC outcomes reveals five enduring pillars of success:

1. Exceptional Bite Optimization Technique

Precision, sequencing, and disciplined fundamentals — never shortcuts, gadgets, or guesswork.

2. Intimate Knowledge of the Gnathic and Neuromuscular Systems

Years of unconscious competence – especially under extreme pathologic dysfunction, where true clinical opportunity emerges for those who understand the physiology deeply and respectfully. Muscle memory, trained instinct. Pattern recognition.

3. Unwavering Understanding of Patients

Healing of life grows slowly. Humans move and make decisions unpredictably, You wait, you don’t rush. OC applies patients to treatment. No distractions. Decisions are made when required. Independence increases effectiveness.

4. Recognition of Opposing Philosophies and Their Incompetence

Not as criticism, but as clarity:
Systems built on incomplete understanding cannot produce consistent results.

5. Unwavering Commitment to Timeless Principles

The physiology hasn’t changed.
The fundamentals haven’t changed.
The patient’s adaptive intelligence hasn’t changed – A mindset of problem solving.
Only the marketing has.

5. God

The ultimate source of wisdom, discernment, and peace —
the anchor beneath every principle, every insight, and every act of stewardship.

A Unified Declaration

Technology evolves. Trends rise and fall. Technology does not replace skill and experience. Teams don’t replace individual competence. Modern dentistry sometimes forgets this – Dental manufacturers emphasize technology systems and equipment. A skilled dentist with simple tools beats mediocre dentistry with complex tools.
But patients — their physiology, their adaptive intelligence, their response to stress and dysfunction — remain the constant.

OC GNM succeeds because it honors what is timeless:

  • Perfect fundamentals
  • Disciplined simplicity
  • Deep understanding of the gnathic and neuromuscular systems
  • Clarity about opposing philosophies
  • Contributes to dentistry – living, persevering, continuing.
  • And the sovereignty of God

This is why OC GNM endures.
This is why the results speak for themselves.
This is why the principles remain unchanged and dedicated dentists will come and continue to learn.

The Story of This Page

Dr. Chan’s original GNM Dentist blog had its great essay years in 2017–2018, then went quiet — a single post in 2021, one more in January 2025, and then silence. On Sunday, December 28, 2025, in the still week between Christmas and New Year, he came back and wrote exactly one thing: this Manifesto. Not a blog post, but a standalone page — meant to stand outside the stream of dated entries. He returned two days later to refine it, and never touched the blog again. The essays argued; the Manifesto declares. In August 2026 it was brought home to Occlusion Connections — the last page the old blog ever produced.
