Orthodontic Case Study: Female, Age 47 (Orthodontic Anterior Open Bite – Retrognathic Maxillary Correction using OC GNM Orthodontics Principles)
Chief Complaint: numerous musculoskeletal pain sites of the head and neck region, former retractive orthodontics, long history of unresolved pains, seeing medical doctors for unresolved heart arythmias (considering oblation heart surgery after many EKG tests). Patient severely restricted in function and limited ability to work normally. GNM Orthotic therapy was implemented to stabilize the constellation of pain symptoms and masticatory dysfunctions. Once stable and pain free, patient instigated desire to proceed with orthodontics to bring her teeth to the proven orthopedic position to close posterior and anterior open bite spaces.
Maxiilary anterior open bite was present once orthopedic jaw position was determined with K7 and low frequency TENS. Below shows pre treatment habitual occlusion after previous series of orhodontics with patient experiencing long history of musculoskeletal occlusal pain symptoms. 
Myotronics K7 kineseograph and low frequency myomonitor J5 TENS is used to confirm before treatment position as well as mid progress and after orthodontic treatment mandibular position. Data confirms that an optimized myo-trajectory has been maintained and the mandibular position was not compromised in a posterior direction when completing this case. (Each gradicule=square grid is 1 mm).
Condylar disc relationship is maintained stable on an Optimized myo-centric position. Patient presents with no longer having click or popping complaints.
An orthopedic verticalization protocol is used to transition the existing orthotic position to the final natural dentition while still maintaining the orthotic position stable.
This GNM orthodontic protocol is carefully accomplished while making sure the muscles are maintained at the stable position through out the treatment. The temporomandibular joints are also maintained to the same position using the GNM orthotic as the “orthopedic guiding matrix” during the transitioning process.
