The 5 Key Principles of Physiologic Occlusion — Why Every GNM Diagnosis Begins Here

Every dentist learns about occlusion in dental school. Very few learn it at the level required to resolve complex TMD cases, stabilize comprehensive restorations or complete orthodontic treatment with long term cervical stability. The difference between those two levels of understanding begins here — with these five foundational principles of physiologic occlusion that Occlusion Connections has identified as the non-negotiable basis of every GNM diagnosis and treatment decision. Without a thorough comprehension of these five principles the clinician is prone to inconclusive diagnosis, ineffective treatment and unresolvable cases. With them — the subject of occlusion finally makes complete clinical sense.

A Place for Learning • Discovery • Support • Guidance

Effective treatment is based on the doctors comprehension and understanding of the following.  Without a foundational comprehension of the following 5 keys principles of physiologic occlusion the clinician is prone to making an inconclusive diagnosis and providing ineffective treatment.  Without proper knowledge of these points, the subject of “occlusion” will continually be twisted and confused.  GNM acknowledges these principles.

Def. Foundational: “The basis on which a thing stands, is founded, or is supported.”
