A CONSERVATIVE APPROACH:
Preservation of tooth structure is possible with modern dental restorative materials. A Biomemetic protocol has been used to conservatively restore the first and second molars back to anatomical form and health without a need to remove unnecessary tooth structure. Marginal ridge preservation was maintained and the occlusal anatomy and contacts were redeveloped. This direct bonding technique preserves the need to over cut away or over prepare tooth dentin and enamel. Note: these are not “crowns”.
Before Ortho Expansion and Biomimetic Restorative – note severely worn teeth.
After Ortho Expansion with Biomimetic Restorative – note restored upper teeth. Lower arch is in the later phase of orthopedic verticalizaiton (raising the anterior teeth to the proper occlusal plane without restorations (preserving the natural dentition). Posteriors surfaces is provisionally covered with a fixed orthotic, but will be removed and converted to Biomimetic restorations without loosing the optimal bite or mandibular physiologic position.
