The OC Way

Vision by Design

OC is not a corporate entity or structure — it’s a family of relationships built on honesty, respect, truth, discipline, courage, and principles. It’s organic.

Organic, Not Corporate

OC is not based on a business model, but on developing relationships that build confidence within each clinician to be a leader.

Dentists choose to come together to learn how dentistry and occlusion really work. By this open, safe atmosphere — created, proven, and validated — they are able to grow and mature into their full potential, professionally and individually. Growth and development is a process of freedom and maturing within a healthy environment of learning, discovery, support, and guidance. Within this arena of freedom there is a natural, built-in accountability amongst peers.

Walk the Talk

OC is about being a leader — one who walks the talk.

We follow those who walk the talk.

Learning by Walking

  • Aristotle, an ancient Greek philosopher and teacher who developed a peripatetic school (referred to as the act of walking), was less formal than the term “school” suggests — one of a less-set curriculum or requirements for students or even membership. “Aristotle preferred to start from the facts given by experience. Philosophy to him meant science, and its aim was the recognition of the “why” in all things. Hence he endeavored to attain to the ultimate grounds of things by induction; that is to say, by a posteriori conclusions from a number of facts to a universal. Logic was noted to either deal with appearances, and was then called dialectics, or of truth, and is then called analytics.”
  • OC is based on experimental training (Aristotle) vs. a systematic, knowledge-based training (Plato) — we are not limited to a systemized approach, but rather espouse creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • OC is a day-to-day walk of what we observe, touch, sense, and experience. Learning along this journey allows our clinicians an opportunity to communicate on a continuum (exchange of ideas) with one another daily as we train and learn together.

Small Is Good

OC encourages others to demonstrate what we walk, discover, and learn together. OC focuses on the quality of those who receive and see the value in its teachings.

Small is good.

Freedom & Independence

OC protects its freedom and independence — staying free from corporate influences that would dictate what we believe and teach. Responsibility and discernment result in freedom, not a rigid structure of everyone being the same. As Scripture says: “Solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to discern.” — Hebrews 5:14.

OC is not based on a hierarchy of talents that keep individuals in dependence. Rather, we teach and encourage doctors to function in liberty — to be independent thinkers, pioneers, and innovators, going beyond and being the extraordinary.

Be Who You Are

OC is not a team-building group or organization. It is about walking and being who you are meant to be — and I being who I am meant to be — respecting yourself and one another. It is an organic experience of freeing oneself from dependency to leadership.

That is how we keep ourselves together.
