“Just to want to let you know that you have been an excellent mentor, in dentistry and philosophy of life. Your input has been instrumental in my search for truth and proper path through these times. I drew on your intelligence and wisdoms. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I just need you to know that.”
– Dr. Michael Nemec, B.Sc., D.D.S. , Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, Canada
“One of the most rewarding and life changing series of courses one can do for their patients. Occlusion is not an easy subject to learn but OC courses are designed to incrementally bring your knowledge and awareness to another level with each course. It creates a thinking clinician and one who is always curious about the patient with their multifaceted presentations. I loved the courses both the clinical and the management aspects of patients including pricing. Forever grateful to Dr Clayton and Jane Chan for their teachings and friendship. Plus you WILL meet lots of great people in the course! Looking forward to next OC summit!”

To All the OC Trained Colleagues,
“Never forget I hope you believe in yourself as much as I believe in you. Whenever you feel overwhelmed or challenged with a difficult situation remember your strength is within you. You are more expert than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter and wiser than you think. I appreciate you more than you will ever know. I can’t promise to be here forever, but I can promise that the GNM occlusal principles and protocols you have learned, practiced, applied and appreciated by “Keeping the Main Thing the Main Thing” will be your guiding light as you continue serving your patients with humbleness and care into the future.”

“Occlusion Connections,
Dear esteemed colleagues,
I’m writing to you today with a proposal regarding the invaluable expertise of Clayton, whom I’ve had the privilege of learning from for the past 22 years. My experience with his OC training courses, from Level I to the most advanced levels, has profoundly shaped my career.
Clayton’s upcoming 70th birthday on March 30th prompts a vital discussion. While we all anticipate his well-deserved retirement in the coming years, we must acknowledge the irreplaceable knowledge and insight he possesses. His retirement will inevitably lead to a significant loss of institutional knowledge.
To mitigate this, I propose we proactively maximize our learning opportunities before his retirement. Clayton is offering Levels I and II courses this March. I strongly recommend that we audit these courses – and indeed, every remaining course he teaches – to ensure that we thoroughly document and absorb his unique approach and extensive experience. This is not merely about attending; it’s about active participation and knowledge transfer. We should consider creating comprehensive session notes, recording relevant parts of the sessions, and potentially even developing a structured knowledge base after each session.
The time to act is now. Let’s work together to safeguard this invaluable knowledge and ensure a smooth transition for the future of our organization. I’m happy to discuss this further and collaborate on a plan to make the most of these upcoming training opportunities”.
Sincerely,”

“Sid –
I think that’s a great idea. We have to practice, practice, practice and then come back to train with a new perspective. Then go back and practice more. And then train more. That’s how we get better. And that’s how we get our patients better.
However, I am not planning on Clayton retiring anytime soon. These are his golden years. And teaching is his life. Slowing down some, maybe. But retiring? Of course, this is his vocation, but it is his avocation also. It’s obvious he really likes doing this.
I hope, for everybody sake, including his, he continues for a long time.
But your point is well taken. It wouldn’t hurt to be proactive about taking advantage of what Clayton has to offer by auditing over the next few years. It would be fun and productive.”

“Clayton has changed my life in a positive direction in more ways than I could have ever imagined. He has not only impacted all of us who have come to OC, but also countless patients. I will be forever grateful.
At some point in time, some talented young doctor will have to emerge to carry this GNM philosophy forward. It cannot be allowed to die. The old guard will not be here forever. We have endured so much in the last 40 years searching for the truth. GNM is the truth”.

“Now that I have almost managed to slow this dental practice down to a level I want, I have discovered something you have known for years. Even though we practice at a high level and have great results I have found this to be true…….regardless of the procedure I am doing for a patient, if I work just 10% harder on the procedure, especially in the final steps, I find that I achieve about a 25% improvement in the end product. And one great additional benefit is that the entire procedure is much less stressful. Moral of story is…..charge a little more, take your time, be thorough, and enjoy the trip. Should have learned this 35 years ago.“

“The success I’ve had sticking to a Chan style Orthotic has been phenomenal the empirically results our unsurpassed, I found nothing that incorporates the six dimensions of occlusion that then intern create the most accurate and the most balance that I’ve seen, been doing bite therapy phase 1/2,for 8 yrs now been life changing for my patients after 22 yrs of practice I haven’t seen anything that comes close , said with the up most humility 🙏, been a great blessing to those who give it a try.”
